ADMISSION

Entry requirements

UK school-leavers wishing to take Economics would normally be expected to achieve, at one sitting, at least

either BBBB at Scottish Higher Grade

or BCC at A level

  • Many technical, overseas and other qualifications are acceptable in place of Highers and A levels.
  • Someone who just misses the normal entrance requirement may still be offered a place.
  • The same standard applies to most Combined Honours Programmes involving Economics, though some have higher standards.
  • The subjects need not include Economics - our experience is that students from a wide variety of academic backgrounds can do well at Economics.
  • Although offers are made for the specific degree programme applied for, once admitted students are free to take advantage of the considerable flexibility offered by the Stirling degree structure to switch to other degree programmes.
  • International students who do not already have the necessary entrance requirements can gain admission to the second year of our degree programmes by completing the Undergraduate Certificate at the International Study Centre on the University campus.
